  3.     SAVE SELETED DISK SNAPSHOTS
  4.  
  5.     Enlighten creates disk snapshots (databases) for use in its
  6.     monitoring of disk usage. These snapshots can be saved for
  7.     historical purposes and then used to determine if changes have been
  8.     made to a partition. They can also be used for security related
  9.     issues (see the "GUI BASICS" chapter in the Enlighten User Guide).

  11.     There are two ways to store a snapshot. First, you can store it as
  12.     the Master Snapshot. This is a snapshot of what you believe is a
  13.     secure system state. These are usually made before users are given
  14.     access to the partition or after a system cleanup is done. Then you
  15.     can use this Master state to gauge if changes are made over time to
  16.     that partition.

  18.     The second way is similar to the first, except you can assign a name
  19.     to the saved snapshot. These snapshots can then be used to represent
  20.     intermediate states.

  22.     Either way, once you select this menu item, a window will appear
  23.     listing all currently mounted filesystems, as shown below. Highlight
  24.     the disk partitions for which you want to make a current snapshot
  25.     and click on the Save Snapshot button.

  28.     The Save Selected Disk Snapshots window will appear. The names of the
  29.     selected partitions are automatically imported into the Snapshot from
  30.     partition column in the window. You may also add other partition names
  31.     or modify the existing ones.

  33.     Then you must choose, for each partition, whether to save the
  34.     snapshot as the master snapshot (default) or not. If so, click on
  35.     the Yes button in the Save as Master column. If not, click on the No
  36.     button and enter a unique name for this snapshot in the appropriate
  37.     Save snapshot as field.

  39.     Once you've made all your selections, click on the Save Snaphot
  40.     button. Enlighten will then notify you as each snapshot is saved. If
  41.     you've requested an existing snapshot be overwritten, you will be
  42.     prompted for confirmation before doing so.
